Dibea UV-10 Features and Specifications
Like many similar mattress vacuums, Dibea UV-10 also features oddly shaped body containing wide cleaning head with the suction nozzle, UV lamp, safety sensors and rotating brushroll, suction motor with cotton air filters and dirt cup with main HEPA pleated air filter and the handle.
Dibea UV-10 is compact corded handheld vacuum, with physical dimensions of 12.2 x 10.2 x 8.7 inches (31 x 26 x 22 cm) and featuring weight of 4.1 pounds (1.86 kg) - as such, unit is designed to be used by one hand using slow push/pull motion across the cleaned area.
Dibea UV-10 mattress vacuum is rated at 300 watts, with the maximum suction of 10 kPa. Unit is corded, featuring 14.7 feet (~4.5 m) long power cord. Obviously, due to the size constrains, Dibea UV-10 doesn't come with automatic power cord rewind system - power cord is manually wrapped around the unit's body.
In order to thoroughly clean and sanitize, Dibea UV-10 combines several cleaning methods:
- rotating brushroll picks up both surface dirt and deeply embedded dirt and hair, pulling it out from the cleaned surface. Also, as the brushroll spins, it sends strong high-frequency (~33 kHz) vibrations into the cleaned surfaces, loosening the pollen, bed bugs and other dirt and allergens, which are then picked up by strong suction.
- despite being compact unit, Dibea UV-10 creates 10 kPa of suction with decent air flow, vacuuming the dirt from the cleaned surface into the dirt cup.
- 8 inches (~20 cm) long UV lamp, rated at 9 watts, emits at harmful 253.7 nm, efficiently killing bacteria, bed bugs and other germs, practically sterilizing the surface. Sterilization rate is ~99.9%, which is achieved in lab tests, although in real life it can be even better, if the UV irradiation time is made longer - this on the other hand can damage sensitive fabrics and cause discoloration of the surface.
Since UV light is harmful to human skin, too, Dibea UV-10 comes with safety sensors that turn off the UV light when the unit is lifted off the surface.
Note: Dibea UV-10 is simple to use and maintain mattress vacuum cleaner, but nonetheless, when it arrives, be sure to read the manual thoroughly.
Although UV-lamp width is ~8 inches (~20 cm), actual cleaning paths is somewhat narrower since suction inlet and rotating brushroll feature width of ~6 inches (~15 cm).
Dirt cup capacity is 400 ml which is more than enough for vacuum cleaner of this type. Dirt cup should be emptied after every use and periodically cleaned/washed.
Dibea UV-10 feature multilayered air filtration system based on the cyclonic action, primary foam filter, pleated HEPA air filter, inlet foam filter, internal motor filter and exhaust air filter.
According to the manufacturer, UV-10 air filtration system is able to capture 99.9% of 0.3 microns or larger particles.
It is recommended by the manufacturer to replace HEPA air filter every 2-3 months, depending on the use and amount/type of vacuumed dirt.
Long Story Short: Dibea UV-10 is very popular mattress vacuum cleaner that does its job rather well - it is compact and affordable unit, with low maintenance costs.
