Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 Features and Specifications

Both units share the same physical dimensions - they feature 13.78 inches (35 cm) diameter, 3.54 inches (9 cm) height and they weigh 6.61 lbs (3 kg).

At first, their height of 3.54 inches (9 cm) appears taller than the height of other popular models on the market (height often around just 3 inches, ~7.6 cm), but both Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 are very compact units and this increase in height is due to the 'Electric Eye' optical sensors.

Both Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 feature inertial navigation system based on a pair of gyroscopes, combined with the 'Electric Eye' (dual optical laser + LED motion tracking sensors). Such navigation system allows the units to map cleaning area and to calculate optimal trajectory in order to clean the are as efficiently as possible.

features

Both Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 feature one side brush, with adjustable speed. During normal cleaning, side brush rotates at 130 rpm, cleaning various debris and pushing it toward the main brushroll and suction inlet. In the 'Edge Cleaning Mode', side brush rotation is increased at 330 rpm, allowing the unit to more thoroughly clean the edges and corners.

Main brushroll is rather conventional design, but it does its job rather well and pick up both small and large dirt, dust, pet and human hair, lint and similar.

brushroll

It is up to the user to periodically check and if required clean both side brush and the main brushroll and to replace them when required.

Note: Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 are relatively simple to use and maintain vacuum cleaners and mops, but when the unit arrives, be sure to read the manual thoroughly.

Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 are designed for cleaning bare floors, and low- and medium-pile carpets. Despite their maximum climbing height of 0.79 inches (20 mm), they have tendency to get stuck on high-pile carpets, just like any other similar robot vacuum cleaner.

Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 feature so-called Carpet Recognition feature and Carpet Boost - when the carpeted are is recognized, units automatically increase the suction to maximum in order to clean the carpet deeply.

To help navigate the area, Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 also feature other sensors as well, including cliff sensors that prevent the units from falling off the stairs.

Magnetic boundary strips are not included, but if required, they are supported and can be ordered from online stores.

magnetic boundary strip

Magnetic boundary strips allow the user to create no-go zones - when the unit detects the magnetic strip, it turns the other way, without crossing it.

Roborock Xiaowa E25 (rated at 54 watts) features maximum suction of 1800 Pa, while Roborock Xiaowa E35 (rated at 57 watts) features maximum suction of 2000 Pa. Also, Roborock Xiaowa E25 comes with built in 2600 mAh lithium battery, while Roborock Xiaowa E35 comes with 5200 mAh lithium battery.

Stronger suction and larger battery allows the Roborock Xiaowa E35 to cover 150-200 m2 using single battery charge, while Roborock Xiaowa E25 can clean up to 120-150 m2. Of course, bare floors require less energy for cleaning and when used on the carpeted areas only, these robots can clean approximately half the stated area.

But, thanks to the inertial navigation system, both Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 feature 'Recharge and Resume' function - if the cleaning task is not completed on the single battery charge, unit automatically docs to the charging station, recharge the battery and then resume with the cleaning task.

During operation, Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 are rather quiet, generating only ~55 dB of noise.

Dirt cup capacity is 640 ml, allowing plenty of dirt to be stored onboard the unit, before it must be emptied by the user - personally, if you schedule the daily cleaning task, just in case, try to empty the dirt cup on a daily basis, especially if you have furry pets.

air filter

Air filtration is good and is based on the washable E11 HEPA air filter, keeping the maintenance costs low.

One of the interesting features of Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 is that they are both robot vacuums and robot mops. Of course, mopping feature is recommended only on the bare floors, while carpets should be cleaned only by vacuuming feature combined with the side brush and the main brushroll.

Mopping feature is optional - mop pad is attached to the mop pad holder, which is slide under the rear of the unit.

mop pads

The high-precision valve connects the water tank and the mopping pad - using the capillary principle, the valve automatically absorbs water to keep the mopping pad sufficiently wet. When unit stops and the mopping pad has no water loss, the valve automatically stops any excess water. Water tank capacity is 150 ml, allowing both units to mop large area without (manual) refilling.

Mop pads are washable and reusable.

Both Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 are WiFi enabled unit, supporting both Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant. Actually, in order to use their features, user must install Mi Home application (available for both iPhone and Android) and connect it to the vacuum.

Note: Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35 feature basic controls on the top of the unit, but full control is achieved via Mi Home App. Also, there are no IR remote control unit!

Both units come with 12 months warranty.

Maintaining the Roborock Xiaowa E25 and E35

Maintenance is simple and rather straightforward:

- side brush and main brushroll must be cleaned periodically from entangled pet and human hair and lint. Also, when they are worn out, they must be replaced.

- dirt cup should be emptied after each use (IMHO, of course), especially if the larger, heavily soiled area is vacuumed.

- water tank should be refilled as needed, prior the mopping. When not mopping, remove the water tank and mop pad - they decrease the climbing height of the unit and it can get stuck more easily.

- clean periodically sensors, wheels and charging contacts.

- main HEPA E11 air filter must be washed periodically, depending on the use and dirt type. After some time, replace the air filter.

Again, to get accustomed to your new vacuum cleaner/mop, and for exact maintenance procedures, check the manual and Mi Home App.
