Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30 and RoBoVac 30C Features and Specifications

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30/30C are powered using lithium ion 14.4V battery with 2600 mAh capacity.

Their maximum operating time on a single battery charge is up to 100 minutes, but this time depends on the cleaning modes, suction strength, surface being cleaned etc.

Units are capable of locating their charging base and automatic recharging when the cleaning task is over, or when the battery is discharged. On average, when the battery is discharged, it takes some 5-6 hours to charge it fully.

Eufy Robovac 30 maximum power consumption is ~25 W, while Eufy Robovac 30C maximum power is ~40 W.

Note: Although RoboVac 30/30C are simple to use robotic vacuums, before the very first use, be sure to read the manual thoroughly. That also means to fully charge the units before first use - tools and appliances that are shipped with built-in lithium batteries, are shipped with semi-charged lithium battery for safety reasons.

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C use so-called 3-Point Cleaning System:

- they feature two side brushes that sweep the floor on both sides and push the dirt toward the brushroll and suction inlet,

- as the brushroll rotates, it sweeps the floor, allowing the units to thoroughly clean bare floors, and low- and medium-pile carpets,

- in the end, the dirt is sucked into the vacuum via 1500 Pa maximum suction.

This 1500 Pa of suction doesn't sound much when being compared with the suction of large home or commercial vacuums (they can reach 10-20+ kPa), but in combination with side brushes and central brushroll, 1500 Pa suction does its job.

Air filtration is good, although it is not true HEPA air filtration. Air filtration is based on:

- primary screen which filters larger objects like crumbs and human and pet hair, protecting foam filter from sharp objects,

- foam filter which captures dust and similar debris,

- HEPA-Style air filter which captures spores, pet dander, mites and other potential allergens.

Dirt bin capacity is 0.6 liters, which isn't much, but for the unit of such size, this is respectable capacity.

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C height is only 2.85 inches (~7.24 cm) allowing them to freely clean under beds, sofas and similar surfaces.

Maximum climb height is 0.63 inches (1.6 cm) allowing the units to freely traverse over various floor types.

During operation, Eufy RoboVac 30/30C are very quiet with noise levels of around 55 dB - they are not whisper quiet, but they will hardly wake up the kids or adults in adjacent rooms with doors closed.

eufy robovac 30 features

Robovac 30/30C come with the set of sensors that allow them to freely operate with no attention needed.

Cliff sensors allow them to avoid falling down the stairs, while other sensors allow them to operate without bumping into the objects and walls at full speed.

Note: cliff sensors are improved, giving less 'false alarms'. Previous RoboVacs had issues with black carpets (false alarm that there are stairs ahead) and very glossy stairs (stairs not detected), so some RoboVac 11 users used (or are still using) black matte duct tape to limit range of their RoboVac 11. Such practice can cause issues with RoboVac 30/30C due to the improved sensors.

On the other hand, RoboVac 30/30C have a new (when compared with RoboVac 11 group of robotic vacuums), very interesting feature - boundary strips.

Boundary strips are magnetic strips that are placed on the floor, thus creating no-entry zones for RoboVac 30/30C, that feature dual Hall sensors to detect the strips on the floor. Units come with 13 feet of boundary strips.

What's in the box? When unit arrives, box content includes: RoboVac 30, charging base, remote control (with batteries), power adapter, cleaning tool, side brushes (4x), additional foam and high-performance filters, cable ties (5x), boundary strip (2x6.6 ft, 2x2m), manual and other documents.

When placing the charging station, be sure to leave some 3-4 feet of free space to the left and right and some 6-7 feet of free space in front of the charging station - this significantly helps the unit to locate and to dock with the charging station.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30 vs Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C

These are very similar units, except that Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C is WiFi enabled unit.

While both units support the use of remote control for setting schedules and cleaning modes, Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C support the use of EufyHome app to control the unit manually, to receive notifications, to set cleaning schedules, to find robot and similar.

The use of EufyHome app is not mandatory, but it is much more convenient than remote control.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C also supports the use of Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control.

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C Cleaning Modes

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C have several cleaning modes:

Auto Cleaning mode is most common cleaning mode. Unit optimizes its path by selecting different cleaning modes automatically until cleaning is complete. When the cleaning is complete, or when the battery is low, unit returns to the charging station and recharges automatically.

Since the unit doesn't feature advanced navigation system, it doesn't resume cleaning tasks.

BoostIQ feature allows the RoboVac 30/30C to automatically increase the suction, if and when required. There are three power/suction settings: standard power, BoostIQ and maximum power, and in most situations, it is best to leave BoostIQ as standard suction setting.

Spot Cleaning mode is used for cleaning a specific area with large amount of dirt and debris. In Spot Cleaning mode RoboVac covers area in spiral pattern and stops after two minutes of cleaning.

Edge Cleaning mode is used for cleaning wall edges. When the wall is detected, unit reduces the speed and follow the edge of the wall to thoroughly clean it. Edge Cleaning mode lasts up to 20 minutes.

Single Room Cleaning mode is used for cleaning a single room. Unit is confined within a single room by using boundary strips and by closing the doors. Single Room Cleaning mode lasts up to 30 minutes.

In Manual Cleaning mode, RoboVac is directed by the user, using the directional buttons on the remote control.

Note: there are large number of videos on YouTube of robotic vacuums carrying beer and other drinks, or even pets around the house. That is not what robotic vacuums are about :)

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C Scheduled Cleaning

Eufy RoboVac allows the user to set a scheduled cleaning, which is highly recommended - unit regularly cleans the home, leaving the user to clean less often using the main home vacuum cleaner.

Note: Eufy RoboVac is very good robotic vacuum cleaner, but not even much more expensive units can't replace the manual cleaning using main full-size vacuum cleaner.

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C vs. Eufy RoboVac 11 Robotic Vacuums

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C are very similar to Eufy RoboVac 11 robotic vacuums, but they come with several improvements. List of their similarities and differences are given in the following table:

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30/30C vs Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11s Slim

eufy robovac 11s tableEufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11s Slim and Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30/30 are a group of very similar robotic vacuums, with the main differences being:

- Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30/30C have stronger suction when BoostIQ or Max Mode is activated - 1500 vs 1300 Pa. The difference of 200 Pa is not large, but nonetheless, it is nice ~15% improvement.

- Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30/30C uses boundary strips to prevent the unit from reaching and cleaning certain areas. For example, boundary strips can be used to prevent the RoboVac 30/30C from exiting the room or going near the cables on the floor or avoiding stairs with glossy surface.

- Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30C is WiFi enabled unit and can be controled via EufyHome app and voice controlled via Amazon Alexa nad Google Assitant.

With improved cliff sensors, both RoboVac 11S and 30/30C have decreased 'false-alarms' because of dark carpets - improvised use of dark matte duck tape is even less reliable method of limiting their range.

Also, RoboVac 30/30C costs more than RoboVac 11S Slim.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 30/30C Maintenance

Eufy RoboVac 30/30C are not maintenance-free vacuum cleaners. Most common maintenance tasks include:

- cleaning dirt bin, after (almost) each use,

- filters should be cleaned every week, and replaced every 2-3 months, depending on the unit's use,

- rolling brush should be cleaned every week, but this also depends on the amount of pet and human hair that are regularly picked up. Also, rolling brush should be replaced every 6-12 months,

- side brushes should be cleaned every month and replaced when they are visibly worn down,

- brush guard should be cleaned every month and replaced every 3-6 months,

- sensors should be cleaned every month,

- swivel wheel should be also cleaned every month.

This sounds like plenty of maintenance cleaning tasks, but it can all done rather quickly.

Eufy RoboVac Replacement Kit

To help users with the maintenance, Eufy manufactures Eufy RoboVac Replacement Kit consisting of:

- 4 side brushes,

- 3 sets of foam and high-performance filters,

- 1 rolling brush.
