Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor Canister Vacuum Features and Specifications

Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor Canister Vacuum dimensions (HxLxW) are 13.7 x 15.7 x 12.1 inches (~35 x 40 x 31 cm) and it weighs 17.64 pounds (~8 kg) - it is not the lightest canister vacuum on the market, but it is carried by both hands and when in use, most of the weight is set on two large wheels.

Thanks to its design, it is rather compact unit, with very low center of gravity - center of gravity is so low that when it falls over, it can easily pick itself up again.

Main cleaner head is so-called Carbon Fiber Turbine Head featuring brushroll with bristles made out of two different materials: carbon fiber filaments are designed for picking up fine dust and other small particles, while stiff nylon bristles help remove ground-in dirt.

Carbon Fiber Turbine Head features automatic height adjustment system, allowing the user to easily traverse from one floor type to another and back.

In order to protect sensitive floors potential damage, user can decrease the suction and thus decrease the spinning rate of the brushroll.

Carbon Fiber Turbine Head features very low profile, allowing the user to clean under beds and sofas easily. Also, thanks to the full swivel mechanism, it maneuvers easily around floor objects and obstacles - much easier than classic upright vacuums, of course.

Power cord is 21 feet (6.4 m) long and features automatic power cord rewind system. Although 21 feet doesn't look long enough for the home/apartment main vacuum cleaner, thanks to the flexible cleaning hose and wand, maximum reach is respectable 35 feet (10.7 m), allowing the use to clean large area using single wall power socket.

Dirt bin capacity is 0.42 gallons (~1.6 liters) allowing the user to vacuum without interruptions for dirt bin emptying.

Dirt bin is transparent, allowing the user to see amount and type of vacuumed dirt and debris (missing socks? :) ). Dirt bin features bottom emptying system, helping the user to empty the dirt directly into the trash can, without making a mess.

Air filtration is excellent - Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor Canister Vacuum is entirely designed with true HEPA air filtration in mind. Unit is designed to trap at least 99.97% of 0.3 microns or larger particles and to exhaust practically clean air.

Air filtration is based on Dyson's 2 Tier Radial Cyclone air filtration technology, combined with washable lifetime filter.

Note: never assemble the unit with wet filter and never use it with wet filter or no filer at all. This Dyson canister vacuum is easy and straightforward to use, but before the very first use, be sure to read the manual/instructions thoroughly.

Although HEPA filters and filtration are known to create larger pressure drop within the system, Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor Canister Vacuum produces 250 Air Watts (AW) of suction power - this is one of the strongest canisters on the market, especially considering that it is true HEPA vacuum.

If there is a clog or blockage within the system, motor's thermal protection shuts down the motor, to prevent any damage. When that happens, turn off the unit, unplug it, an let it cool down for 1-2 hours. Clear the blockages and resume with the cleaning - if the motor doesn't start or if it is turned off often by thermal protection, contact the Dyson's support.

For cleaning elevated surfaces, unit features two additional cleaning tools:

- Combination Tool is 2-in-1 cleaning tool, combining crevice tool and brush tool in one cleaning tool.

Crevice tool is long and narrow, allowing the user to clean hard-to-reach areas like between seats or cushions, along the baseboards, in the corners etc.

Dusting Brush comes with soft bristles which agitate dust and other dirt that is then vacuumed with strong air flow.

- Stair Tool is designed for cleaning stairs, upholstery and similar carpeted and upholstered surfaces that can't be cleaned using main Carbon Fiber Turbine Head.
