Dyson Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum is large and powerful canister vacuum cleaner, designed for cleaning various floor and elevated surfaces. It is bagless unit, with excellent true HEPA air filtration and very low maintenance costs. If you prefer canister vacuums over uprights, consider this model - after all, it comes with respectable 5 year limited warranty.

Dyson Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum (also known as Dyson Ball Multi Floor Canister Vacuum or Dyson DC39 Origin) is very similar to other Dyson's canister vacuums, but it differs from them in few very important details.
Dyson Ball Multifloor vs Dyson Cinetic Big Ball vs Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor
Dyson Ball Multifloor has the strongest suction (280 vs 250 AW), longest reach (45 vs 35 feet) and largest dirt bin (0.53 vs 0.42 gallons).
Also, it is the most narrow unit (10.2 vs 12.1 inches) and the lightest (16.9 vs 17.64 pounds).
However, there are few cons, too:
- Dyson Ball Multifloor and Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor use washable filters, while Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal uses non-washable lifetime filter,
- Trigerhead Floor Tool is of somewhat older design when compared with Carbon Fiber Turbine Head,
- when tipped over, Dyson Ball Multifloor does NOT automatically pick itself up,
- Dyson Ball Multifloor and Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor come with Combination Tool and Stair Tool, while Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal comes with Tangle Free Turbine Tool, Stiff Bristle Brush, Combination Tool and Stair Tool.
Note: Dyson Ball Multifloor is also the cheapest of them all.

Dyson Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum Features and Specifications
Dyson Ball Multifloor weighs 16.9 pounds (~7.7 kg), and it is far from being the lightest canister vacuum on the market. However, when it is carried around, it is carried using both hands (canister in one hand, wand in another hand) - it is easier to carry it around than some lighter uprights that are carried with a single hand.
Unit's physical dimensions (HxLxW) are 14.2 x 19.5 x 10.2 inches (~36.1 x 49.5 x 26 cm) - unit is far from being small, but thanks to its narrow design, it is easily pulled around during vacuuming. Just be sure to avoid bumping into furniture, walls, stairs and other objects and obstacles.
Dyson Ball Multifloor features 280 AW (Air Watts) of suction power - and that is plenty of power, ensuring the proper cleaning job regardless of the surface or dirt type.
Maximum reach using one wall power socket is respectable 45 feet (13.7 m), enabling the user to clean large area without changing wall sockets.
Dyson Ball Multifloor air filtration is based on Dyson's so-called 'Radial Root' cyclonic technology - one row of 14 compact cyclones generate strong centrifugal forces to filter out microscopic dust, pollen, and other dirt from the air. Nonetheless, unit comes with a washable life-time air filter to improve air filtration even further.
Few notes:
- wash filter every 1-2 months, depending on the vacuum use,
- before returning the filter, be sure that it is thoroughly dry. Operating unit with wet filter or even without filter can damage the unit and void warranty,
- this unit is very easy to use, but before very fist use, be sure to thoroughly read the manual. Better safe than sorry.
Dirt bin is transparent, allowing the user to see type and amount of vacuumed dirt. Its capacity is 0.53 gallons (2 liters) and that is plenty of dirt. Dirt bin is easily emptied via the bottom of the dirt bin - quickly and cleanly.
Dyson Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum Cleaning Tools
Dyson Ball Multifloor Canister Vacuum comes with the main Triggerhead floor tool and additional Combination Tool and Stair Tool. If required, more tools can be ordered online, if and when required.
Triggerhead floor tool features powered brush bar, which significantly helps when cleaning carpets, area rugs and similar surfaces - as the brush bar rotates, its bristles agitate deeply embedded dirt and hair, while 280 AW of suction removes everything into the unit.
When cleaning sensitive floors, it is recommended to stop the brush bar, as its bristles may damage the surface of sensitive floors. Also, delicate carpets and other similar surfaces should be cleaned with brush bar turned off.
Note: when starting the unit, brush bar always starts in ON mode and it must be first turned OFF before cleaning sensitive and delicate surfaces. Again, read the manual before the first use!
Stair Tool is designed for cleaning carpeted and upholstered surfaces like stairs, sofas, beds, furniture, car interriors and similar.
Combination Tool are two tools in one. Crevice tool is designed for cleaning narrow and tight areas and spaces, corners, along the baseboards and similar. Dusting brush is designed for cleaning dust and similar debris from smaller areas like bookshelves, tables, windowsills and similar.

Long Story Short: if you prefer canister vacuums and you need strong and reliable, low maintenance unit, consider Dyson Ball Multifloor canister vacuum cleaner. It has excellent suction and HEPA air filtration, large dirt bin, long reach and cleaning tools for cleaning various surfaces from the floor to the ceiling.
There are cheaper units on the market, but Dyson Ball Multifloor justifies its price.
