Bissell Air320 (Model 2768A) Air Purifier Features and Specifications
Bissell Air320 (Model 2768A) air purifier is a relatively large and heavy unit, featuring physical dimensions of (W x D x H) 14.5 x 8.5 x 25 inches (~36.9 x 21.6 x 63.5 cm), and it weighs 19.2 pounds (~8.7 kg) - obviously, the unit should be placed on permanent location and let to do its work.
Bissell Air320 features a front air intake and top air exhaust, allowing the user to place it with its back toward the wall.
The power cord is 6 feet (~1.83 m) long, and perhaps it could be a little bit longer to give the user more freedom in positioning the unit.
Bissell Air320 controls are very simple - they have everything integrated into a single button, which is very intuitive to use.
The unit is AHAM verified for Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADR) of 211 for smoke, 245 for pollen, and 221 for dust.
Bissell Air320 is also AHAM certified to filter rooms:
- 327 sq. ft. (~30.4 m2): 4.8 air changes per hour,
- 527 sq. ft. (~49 m2): 3 air changes per hour,
- 791 sq. ft. (~73.5 m2): 2 air changes per hour,
- 1582 sq. ft. (~147 m2): 1 air change per hour.
Of course, these values are all given for the maximum fan speed.
When the unit turns on, it starts with Auto Mode based on Bissell's Automated CirQulate System - an onboard PM 2.5 particle sensor monitors the air quality and provides color-coded (Blue, Yellow, Red) indoor air quality readings and, if required, automatically adjusts the fan speed.
For users who don't want their air purifier to run in Auto Mode, fan speed is easily set using the control dial - the current fan speed can be read on the front display panel.
Note: Bissell Air320 is a very quiet air purifier, especially when used at first speed (slowest fan speed). Also, all the lights can be turned off (Night Mode), allowing the air purifier to be used even in bedrooms.
Bissell Air320 Air Filters
Bissell Air320 uses a three-layer air filtration system to achieve a true HEPA air purification level - the unit is able to capture 99.97% of 0.3 microns particles.
Air purification is based on a mechanical air pre-filter that removes larger air-borne particles, a true HEPA air filter that captures 99.97% of 0.3-micron particles, including dust, pollen, pet dander, and other potential allergens, and in the end, activated carbon air filter which removes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), pet smells and odors, household smells, etc.
If required, users can replace true HEPA and activated carbon air filters individually, but they can be purchased as a set, too.
Bissell Air320 feature two different air filters sets:
- Bissell 3314: Air320 Air Purifier HEPA Air Purifier Filter & Activated Carbon Filter Pack,
- Bissell 3170: Air320 Air Purifier Replacement Pet Pro Filter Pack.
The Bissell 3170 filter pack features the Zeolite Pet Pro Filter, which captures more indoor pet odors than the typical activated carbon air filters.
While Bissell 3170 Pet Pro Filter Pack costs slightly more than Bissell 3314 Filter Pack, improved air filtration justifies the somewhat higher price.
It is recommended to replace the air filters every six months, although this also depends on the unit use and local air quality.
Note: Bissell Air320 doesn't feature a UV lamp or air ionizer and thus produces no ozone.
Bissell Air320 true HEPA air purifier comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
