Shark Navigator ZU62 Zero-M Pet Pro is corded, bagless, upright vacuum cleaner with additional flexible cleaning hose and wand, designed as the main vacuum cleaner in larger homes and apartments.

Shark Navigator ZU62 Zero-M Pet Pro Features and Specifications

Shark Navigator ZU62 Zero-M Pet Pro includes several Shark's cleaning technologies, helping the users keep their homes cleaner and safer to live.

Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology ensures that no air leaks out prior being fully filtered via three different air filters.

Washable foam and felt pre-motor air filters and washable post-motor HEPA exhaust air filters ensures that dust, pet dander, hair, pollen and other potential allergens are trapped inside the vacuum.

Also, Shark Navigator ZU62 comes with Zero-M (Zero Maintenance) self-cleaning brushroll.

Zero-M self-cleaning brushroll features system that constantly removes tangled hair, lint and fibers from the brushroll, saving effort and time.

Brushroll cover is transparent, allowing the user to see condition of the brushroll.

Note: from time to time, user has to manually clean the brushroll and remove stubborn entangled pet and human hair and similar debris. Also, when the unit arrives, it must be assembled first, which can be done rather quickly. In order to get accustomed to your new vacuum cleaner, prior the first use, be sure to thoroughly read the manual.

Main cleaner head doesn't feature LED headlights, which can come rather handy for spotting the dirt and for cleaning in the low light conditions.

Main brushroll is not engaged until the unit is reclined backwards slightly - this allows the user to park the unit when requiring short breaks without turning the unit off and for vacuuming using cleaning hose, without worrying about the rotating brushroll.

To prevent possible damages to the unit, Shark ZU62 comes with the Brushroll Indicator Light that signals to the user when there are issues with the brushroll - when Brushroll Indicator Light turns solid red, turn off the unit right away, unplug it from the wall, and check the brushroll for clogs and blockages.

Note: exact maintenance procedures are described in the greater details in the unit's manual.

Main cleaner head is designed for cleaning both carpeted areas and bare floors, with the unit's controls being on the body of the units and NOT on the handle, which makes transition from the surface to the surfaces little bit tiring.

Power/Surface selector has three settings:

- '0': Power Off - Unit is turned off.

- '1': Hard Floors - recommended setting for vacuuming bare floors and smaller area rugs.

- '2': Carpets - recommended setting for vacuuming carpets.

Since unit features rather strong suction, when vacuuming sensitive surfaces, it is recommended to decrease the suction using Suction Control Slider.

Shark ZU62 Zero-M comes with swivel steering, which in combination with moderate weight ensures good maneuverability over different floor types.

Unit weighs approximately 16 pounds (~7.25 kg) and its physical dimensions are (L x W x H) 9.8 x 11.9 x 45.2 inches (24.9 x 30.2 x 114.8 cm).

Cleaning path width is 11.97 inches (30.4 cm) which is wider than the stated width of the unit - since Shark ZU62 doesn't feature edge bristles, it is safe to assume that there is an error in the stated cleaning path width.

Note: due to the rather strong suction, unit doesn't have issues with the cleaning path being narrower than the cleaning head width - so, maybe Shark's data regarding cleaning path width are actually correct, after all ...

Power cord is 25 feet (~7.62 m) long and in combination with 12 feet (3.66 m) long flexible cleaning hose, ensures long cleaning reach using just one wall power socket and cleaning of elevated surfaces, stairs included.

Shark Navigator ZU62 Zero-M doesn't feature automatic power cord rewind system - power cord is manually wrapped around power cord wrap hooks.

Unit is rated at 1150 watts (9.5 Amps) and has very strong suction across its cleaning width.

Suction motor feature thermostat that turns the motor off if its internal temperature rises above certain threshold. When that happens, turn off the unit, unplug it from the wall and check for blockages inside the unit, empty the dirt bin, and check the filters.

After cooling down for at least 45-50 minutes, thermostat automatically reset itself and the user can continue with the cleaning task.

Dirt cup is transparent and rather large, with capacity of 2.8 quarts, allowing the user to clean large, heavily soiled floors without interruptions.

To empty the dirt cup, detach it from the unit and empty it directly into the trashcan via bottom emptying system.

Air filtration is good, and according to the Shark, ZU62 Zero-M vacuum features HEPA level of air filtration.

However, Shark doesn't state actual HEPA level, but since most of their similar units feature 99.9% filtration of 0.3 microns or larger particles, it is logical to assume that Shark ZU62 features 99.9% filtration of 0.3 microns or larger particles.

Air filtration is based on the two pre-motor filters (foam and felt) and one post-motor exhaust HEPA air fitler.

All filters are rinsable using cold water with no detergents allowed.

Pre-motor air filters should be washed every 3 months (or when required) and replaced 2.5 years (30 months).

HEPA air filer should be washed every year (or when required) and replaced every 3 years (36 months).

Washable air filters help keep the maintenance costs to minimum, but since operation of the unit depends very much on their performance and since they are not expensive, change them more often if required.

Note: after washing the filters, dry them thoroughly before assembling back into the unit - operating the unit with wet filters or no filters at all can damage the vacuum and void its 5-year limited warranty.

In order to clean elevated surfaces, Shark ZU62 Zero-M comes with several cleaning tools.

Duster Crevice Tool

Duster Crevice Tool is designed as 2-in-1 cleaning tool. Crevice tool is intended for vacuuming edges, gaps and narrow areas, while dusting brush is used for vacuuming dust and similar debris from various surfaces.

Dusting Brush

Dusting Brush is used fir vacuuming delicate surfaces like blinds, shelves, ceiling fans and similar.

Upholstery Tool

Upholstery Tool is used for picking up pet and human hair, lint, fibers and other types of dirt from upholstery (hence the name), curtains, tables etc.

Cleaning tools may be used by attaching them onto the cleaning wand or directly on the handle, depending on the cleaning task.

There also other cleaning tools available for Shark Zu62 that can be ordered later, if required.

Shark AZ1000W is an upright vacuum cleaner rated at 1350 watts and featuring DuoClean/Zero-M main cleaner nozzle, Powered Lift-Away and Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technologies.

It is large, strong and rather versatile upright vacuum cleaner that comes with very nice price tag :)

Shark ZU572 is an upright vacuum cleaner rated at 800 watts and featuring Zero-M main cleaner nozzle, Lift-Away and Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technologies.

It is rather lightweight unit, suitable even for elderly people.

Both AZ1002 and ZU572 feature flexible cleaning hoses that are 5.5 and 6.6 feet long.

Shark ZU62 is an upright vacuum cleaner rated at 1150 watts and featuring Zero-M main cleaner nozzle and Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology.

It has the largest dirt cup and the longest cleaning hose (12 feet). Also, Shark ZU62 is significantly cheaper than AZ1002.

On the other hand, Shark ZU62 doesn't feature Lift-Away technology and it requires long cleaning hose in order to reach elevated surfaces and stairs. Also, it lacks LED lights and it doesn't have any motorized pet cleaning tool, at least, not by default.
