Miele Boost CX1 Features and Specifications

Miele Boost CX1 vacuum cleaners differ in color, level of air filtration, and the set of cleaning tools that come by default with the units.

Miele Boost CX1 vacuums are rated at 1200W, and combined with Miele Vortex technology, Miele Boost CX1 vacuums ensure excellent suction, regardless of the cleaning tool being used.

The maximum cleaning range is ~32 feet (~10m), allowing the users to clean the large area using just one electric power socket.

The power cord is ~21 feet (~6.5m) long and features an automatic power cord rewind system.

The dirt bin is large and features a capacity of 1 liter, and can be emptied rather quickly. Since there are no vacuum bags, maintenance costs are very low.

Drive wheels are large and gentle on the floors. Miele Boost CX1 vacuums feature so-called TrackDrive technology ensuring good maneuverability regardless of the floor type, despite their weight of ~18 pounds - since they are canister vacuums, the vacuums are rather easy to clean with.

Cleaning wands are telescopic with comfortable handles.

miele boost cx1 controls

Controls of the units are very simple and are found on the canister of the vacuums. They include foot operated On/Off and power cord rewind buttons and 4-settings suction control dial-in button, allowing the user to set the suction optimized for:

  • Curtains and other lightweight fabrics,
  • Deep-pile carpets and rugs,
  • Low-pile carpets and rugs,
  • Bare floors and heavily soiled carpets and rugs.

As usual with Miele vacuums, Miele Boost CX1 vacuums are offered in several models, differing not only in color but in other, more important details like air filtration and the default cleaning tools.

Miele Bost CX1 Air Filtration System

Miele Boost CX1 vacuums feature a multilayered air filtration system consisting of cyclonic air filtration, an air prefilter, a fine dust air filter combined with a filter mat, and an exhaust air filter.

A fine dust air filter and filter mat are placed on the back side of the dust bin, protecting the suction motor. A fine dust air filter and filter mat are washable using water - it is recommended to wash a fine dust air filter and filter mat once a month and to air dry them for 24 hours.

Miele Boost CX1 vacuums come with two types of exhaust air filters, Hygiene AirClean SF-HY 60 Air Filter and HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter.

Hygiene AirClean SF-HY 60 Air Filter

Hygiene AirClean SF-HY 60 Air Filter comes with Miele Boost CX1 Powerline and ensures very good air filtration - but not HEPA air filtration.

miele hygiene airclean sf hy 60

Hygiene AirClean SF-HY 60 Air Filter is not washable, but it can be occasionally cleaned by tapping it on the inner side of the trashcan to remove very fine dust.

On average, Hygiene AirClean SF-HY 60 Air Filter lasts ~1 year, after which it must be replaced.

The filter can be ordered via Hygiene AirClean SF-HY 60 Air Filter Amazon link (link opens in the new window).

HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter

HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter comes with Parquet and Cat & Dog models and ensures true HEPA air filtration.

miele hepa airclean sf ha 60

HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter is not washable, but it also can be cleaned by tapping it on the inner side of the trashcan.

One of the very interesting features of HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter is the TimeStrip filter change indicator which goes completely red after approximately 50 hours of cleaning, which is again approximately after one year of vacuum's use.

So, when the TimeStrip goes completely red, replace the air filter.

The filter can be ordered via HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter Amazon link (link opens in the new window).

Miele Boost CX1 Cleaning Tools and Accessories

Miele Boost CX1 vacuums come with various sets of cleaning tools and accessories, but if required, all cleaning tools can be ordered later.

Miele Boost CX1 vacuums come with Upholstery Tool, Crevice Tool, and Dusting Brush with synthetic bristles.

Upholstery tool is intended for vacuuming upholstered surfaces but also smaller and sensitive carpeted areas, including sofas, stairs, and similar.

Crevice tool is a long and narrow cleaning tool intended for vacuuming hard-to-reach, narrow areas.

Dusting Brush features synthetic bristles and is intended for the dusting of various elevated surfaces. It is important to note that Miele also offers a dusting brush with more gentle natural bristles and an adjustable neck, which can be ordered from the Miele SUB20 Dusting Brush Amazon link (the link opens in the new window).

For floor cleaning, Miele Boost CX1 vacuums come with SBD 365-3 Floorhead, SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister Floorhead and STB 305-3 Turbo Brush Floorhead.

SBD 365-3 Floorhead

miele sbd 365 3

SBD 365-3 Floorhead comes with all three models of Miele Boost CX1 vacuums and is intended for vacuuming bare floors and low-pile carpets.

SBD 365-3 Floorhead doesn't feature a brushroll and is not suitable for vacuuming hair, lint, and similar deeply embedded dirt from medium and high-pile carpets.

But, SBD 365-3 Floorhead cleans bare floors and low-pile carpets very well and allows the users to easily transition from one surface to another, thanks to the foot-operated mode selector on the left side of the tool.

Thanks to the full swivel neck, SBD 365-3 Floorhead is a very maneuverable cleaning tool.

SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister Floorhead

miele sbb 300 3

SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister Floorhead comes only with Miele Boost CX1 Parquet, but if required, it can be ordered later to be used with other models as well.

SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister Floorhead features rows of gentle bristles optimized for vacuuming bare floors.

Since the bristles are rather gentle, SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister Floorhead is suitable for parquets and similar sensitive floor types - hence the name.

STB 305-3 Turbo Brush Floorhead

miele stb 305 3

STB 305-3 Turbo Brush Floorhead comes with Miele Boost CX1 Cat & Dog. It features a spinning brushroll and is optimized for medium to high-pile carpets.

As the brushroll spins, it picks up lint, fibers, pet and human hair, and other dirt from the carpets and area rugs and, thanks to the strong suction, moves the dirt into the dirt bin.

Miele Boost CX1 Maintenance

Miele Boost CX1 vacuums are rather easy to maintain - regularly empty the dirt bin and keep the air filters clean.

Also, from time to time, the user has to check the cleaning tools and remove any dirt buildup that may restrict the airflow and reduce the cleaning effect of the vacuums.

Note: When the Miele Boost CX1 vacuum arrives, be sure to read the Owner's Guide thoroughly and to maintain the unit as recommended by the manufacturer.

Few Final Words

If You are looking for bagless canister vacuums and You don't mind paying a little bit more, consider Miele Boost CX1 vacuums - these vacuums are not cheap, but they do their job well, they are easy to use and very easy to maintain.

Also, they come with a 3-year warranty.

Personally, whichever model You have, go for HEPA AirClean SF-HA 60 Air Filter, due to its much better air filtration (up to 99.999%).

Also, Cat & Dog model comes with STB 305-3 Turbo Brush Floorhead, with much-improved cleaning of carpeted areas. And for bare floors, one can always use SBD 365-3 Floorhead. For very sensitive wooden floors, one should opt for SBB 300-3 Parquet Twister Floorhead or similar Miele bare floor tools.
