Hoover UH70400 WindTunnel Features and Specifications

Hoover UH70400 WindTunnel is powered with 1200 motor, providing plenty of suction, regarding of the cleaning tool being used.

Power cord is 30 feet (~9.15 m) long, enabling the user to clean rather large area using just one wall power socket. Hoover UH70400 doesn't feature automatic power cord rewind system - power cord is manually wrapped around cord wrap hooks at the back of the unit.

Hoover UH70400 WindTunnel weighs 12.4 pounds (~5.62 kg), making it one of the lighter uprights in the 1000+ watts class.

Although it doesn't feature full swivel mechanism, unit is rather maneuverable across different floor surfaces.

Handle is telescopic, allowing the user to set the most comfortable length for the cleaning tasks ahead.

While telescopic D-shaped handle is comfortable, main controls are NOT on the handle, but on the unit's main body: the On/Off button and the brushroll On/Off button.

Also, main cleaner head comes with translucent brushroll cover, letting the user see current condition of the brushroll - it doesn't feature automatic hair removal system of any kind and it is up to the user to visually check the brushroll and clean it from time to time.

Since main cleaner head features automatic brushroll shut-off system, translucent cover let the user see if there is some kind of mechanical issue with the brushroll.

Note: Hoover UH70400 WindTunnel also features motor thermal protection - if the motor's internal temperature starts to rise, thermal protection shuts it off. If/when that happens, turn off the unit, unplug it from the wall and check for clogs and blockages. After ~30 minutes thermal protection system reset itself automatically. Hoover UH70400 WindTunnel is simple to use vacuum cleaner, but when the unit arrives, be sure to read the manual thoroughly in order to get accustomed to your new vacuum.

Main cleaner head features low height, allowing it to reach and clean under certain objects, like furniture and beds . Note that the main cleaner head doesn't come with LED headlights that can be rather helpful when cleaning in a low light conditions.

For cleaning elevated surfaces, Hoover UH70400 WindTunnel comes with 3-in-1 cleaning tool, consisting of:

- Crevice Tool is long and narrow cleaning tool, intended for vacuuming corners, edges, crevices, gaps and similar hard to reach and clean areas,

- Dusting Brush is used for dusting. As its bristles glide over the cleaned surfaces, they agitate the dirt, which is than vacuumed into the unit.

- Upholstery Tool is used for deep vacuuming of the upholstery and similar surfaces.

3-in-1 Cleaning Tool is carried onboard the vacuum, stored at the back of the unit, ready to be used at the moment notice.

Dirt bin is transparent, allowing the user to see amount of vacuumed dirt. Air filtration is based on the multi-cyclonic filtration combined with two air filters - thus, don't fill the dirt bin over the Max Fill Line.

Dirt bin is detachable from the unit, allowing the user to empty the trash via bottom emptying system directly into the trashcan, without ever touching the dirt.

Hoover 70400 WindTunnel comes with two mechanical air filters. Depending on the use, these filters should be cleaned every two months.

Rinsable air filter should be washed with water only. After rinsing, it should be air dried for at least 24 hours - never assemble the unit with wet air filter and never use your vacuum with wet filter in place or no filters at all.

HEPA media air filter is not washable. But, when washing the rinsable air filter, it is good practice to remove the HEPA air filter out of the unit and to tap it onto the inner surface of the trashcan - this will set lose small dirt particles and help the unit vacuum better.

In combination with the Sealed Allergen System, multi-cyclonic filtration and two mechanical air filters, Hoover UH70400 achieves true HEPA air filtration - unit is able to capture at least 99.97% of 0.3 microns or larger particles, which is very important, especially for people having issues with asthma and allergies.

When used and maintained properly, both rinsable and HEPA air filters shouldn't require replacement during the 2-year warranty period. However, if required, new filters may be ordered from online stores - rinsable air filter is Hoover part number 303903001 and the HEPA air filter is Hoover part number 303902001.
