Makita XCV11T Wet/Dry Vac Features and Specifications
Makita XCV11T is a vacuum/dust extractor kit, consisting of Makita XCV11Z cordless wet/dry vacuum, Makita DC18RC lithium battery rapid charger, two Makita BL1850B lithium 18V 5.0Ah batteries, flexible cleaning hose, crevice tool, upholstery tool, and HEPA air filter set.
For people that already own Makita LXT batteries and chargers, Makita XCV11Z (bare tool only) may be found rather cheap.
But, since Makita 18V LXT batteries may be used to power a rather broad set of cordless Makita tools, Makita XCV11T (vacuum kit) is recommended for people just starting with Makita LXT 18V tools, or for people who need additional LXT batteries and rapid lithium battery charger.
Physical dimensions of the Makita XCV11T are (L x W x H) 16.5 x 9.875 x 11 inches (~418 x 251 x 278 mm) and it weighs ~10.1 pounds (~4.6 kg).
Makita XCV11T features two suction settings:
- Normal Suction: 1.3 m3/min (46 CFM), 42 hPa suction,
- High Suction: 1.6 m3/min (57 CFM), 67 hPa suction.
Thanks to its dimensions, dry dirt capacity is 2.0 gallons (~7.5 liters) and liquids capacity is 1.2 gallons (~4.5 liters).
One of the very important features of Makita XCV11T is true HEPA air filtration - the unit is able to capture 99.97% of 0.3 microns or larger particles, exhausting practically clean air.
Air filter assembly consists of HEPA air filter, damper, and pre-filter.
The air filter is washable using plain water, after which the air filter should be air-dried and reassembled back into the unit.
Note: Makita XCV11T is rather simple to use and maintain shop vac/blower/dust extractor, but when it arrives, be sure to thoroughly read the manual and to get accustomed to your new unit.
To convert Makita XCV11T from vacuum to blower, all the user has to do is disconnect the cleaning hose from the vacuuming port and attach it to the blower port. Having a blower can be rather helpful when removing/cleaning dust, sawdust, and similar types of dirt in the shop, construction site, garage, car, etc.
Cleaning tools and flexible cleaning hose are carried onboard the Makita XCV11T cordless vacuum.
Cleaning tools include:
- 7" Crevice Tool is intended for cleaning tight and narrow areas and gaps. Its narrow cleaning nozzle focuses air flow and generates large suction on a small area, allowing the tool to clean edges, corners, and similar hard-to-reach surfaces.
- 5" Black Upholstery Tool is intended for cleaning upholstered and generally flat surfaces. Thanks to its 5" (~12.7 cm) cleaning width, the Upholstery Tool allows the user to clean the relatively large areas quickly.
The flexible cleaning hose is up to 6.5 feet (~2 m) long and connects the Makita XCV11T vacuum with its cleaning tools.
Note: Makita also offers other cleaning tools and accessories for Makita XCV11T vacuum cleaner, including shoulder strap and various cleaning tools, brushes, joints, cuffs, and similar, allowing the Makita XCV11T to be connected directly to the Makita tools like various saws, sanders, etc.

For carrying around, Makita XCV11T features a carrying handle, but an optional shoulder strap is highly recommended.
Makita LXT 18V Lithium Batteries and Rapid Charger
Makita XCV11T comes with a pair of 18V 5.0Ah BL1850B LXT lithium batteries and a rapid battery charger DC18RC.
When the BL1850B battery is fully discharged, lithium rapid battery charger DC18RC requires ~45 minutes to fully recharge it.
When the Makita XCV11T is operated at a Normal suction level, a single Makita BL1850B battery can power the Makita XCV11T vacuum for up to 60 minutes. Of course, when the unit is run at Maximum suction, operating time is shorter.
Makita XCV11T features a covered battery compartment, protecting the battery from dust and other similar dirt. In order to check the remaining battery charge, the user doesn't have to open the battery compartment since there is an additional LED battery indicator on the Makita XCV11T itself.
Again, Makita manufactures a broad set of cordless tools which are powered by Makita LXT 18V lithium batteries - like the ones that come with Makita XCV11T dry/wet vacuum/dust extractor (2x BL1850B, 18V 5.0Ah).
Long Story Short: If You are looking for a cordless, bagless, wet/dry 2-in-1 vac/blower suitable for a shop vac, construction site vacuum, garage vacuum, and similar, consider Makita XCV11T.
It has very good suction, excellent air filtration, large dirt capacity and it comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
